Brazilian airline TAM today joined the Star Alliance network, providing the world’s longest serving airline alliance with a strong presence on the South American continent.
TAM Airlines offers more than 40 destinations in Brazil and flies to a further ten airports across the rest of South America. The airline’s intercontinental network covers a variety of destinations in the USA and Europe, many of these being Star Alliance hubs.
The Star Alliance network now includes 27 member carriers, offering 21,050 daily flights to 1,167 destinations across 181 countries.
In addition to the increased network offer, Frequent Flyers will also benefit from TAM Airlines’ Star Alliance membership. Participants in Star Alliance member airline Frequent Flyer Programmes (FFP) earn miles every time they fly TAM Airlines and can also redeem miles on the TAM Airlines network. One of the Star Alliance Gold membership benefits is Lounge access and with TAM Airlines the number of designated Gold Lounges across the Star Alliance network has grown to over 990.
Leisure travellers will benefit from TAM Airlines’ membership in Star Alliance as the popular Round the World Fare now offers numerous new travel combinations throughout Brazil and South America, as well as more flights between Brazil and Europe, and Brazil and the USA.
