At Atlantic Pacific American Express we have taken steps to reduce the environmental impact of our business, and we’re helping our clients do the same.

We offer a range of ways that can help you reduce the environmental effects of your organisation's business travel. We:

• report monthly on kilometres travelled, including rental cars and taxis
• send travel documents and correspondence electronically
• keep you up to date with leading market carbon offset programmes.

We're working with Australian-based carbon reduction and management company Climate Friendly on a long-term carbon reduction and offset strategy.

Our carbon reduction goals are to:

• continue to monitor our emissions and make significant long-term reductions
• share what we have learnt with key stakeholders
• provide customers with the opportunity to offset their own flight emissions with premium standard carbon credits.

Steps toward sustainability

At Atlantic Pacific American Express we pride ourselves on constantly pushing the boundaries of our environmental performance. We have taken the following steps to reduce the carbon consumption of our operations.

• The appointment of a carbon reduction champion in every office to educate staff on sound environmental practices and to ensure we are as efficient as possible.
• Designing our operational processes to minimise our impact on the environment. Steps include double sided photocopying, switching off unused computer screens, installing a LAN fax option to help cut paper use, switching off unnecessary office lighting, recycling waste paper and creating recycled paper notebooks for staff to use. Every little bit helps!
• Educating our clients about sustainable practices and providing environmentally sound services such as biodegradable travel wallets and e-tickets.
• Working closely with our suppliers and stakeholders to understand their environmental policies, so we can offer our clients the most sustainable business travel options available.
